Engagement Portraits on Sandy Hook ~ NJ Wedding Photographer

I don't usually make a habit of shooting portraits in winter, but this year's mild weather has been perfect for late afternoon portraits.  Last Sunday was no exception, and Sandy Hook was the perfect sunny backdrop for Jordana and Sean's engagement portraits.  We drove out to the barracks at the end of the peninsula, which offered several historic buildings and endless pretty little meadows and paths.  Here are a few of my favorites....

Fall Engagement Shoot - NJ Wedding Photography

Although Lisa and Rob were admittedly nervous about portrait taking, they were absolutely a pleasure to photograph!  We strolled around Allaire State Park on a beautiful fall evening when the light was warm and the colors were soft.   I think these are some of my favorite portraits from all season.

Alexis and Randall in Atlantic Highlands

Alexis and Randall are planning a winter wedding in 2012, so for their engagement shoot, we choose the lush and lively backdrop of the Atlantic Highlands waterfront... have a look!

Morristown Engagement Portraits!

In a few weeks I'll have the honor of photographing Tiffany and Blake's wedding in Spring Lake, one of the loveliest beach towns along the New Jersey shore.   But for their engagement portraits, we decided to take advantage of the antique charm of downtown Morristown, where the couple lives.  Park benches, historic architecture, and one happy couple! Take a look . . .

Rachel and Patrick on a cold afternoon in Asbury

So first of all, I have to thank Rachel and Patrick for being such troopers on this freezing cold afternoon.  I was hesitant to schedule a portrait shoot in January, but it was worth the effort (and cold fingers) to capture the quiet, moody backdrop of the boardwalk in winter.

Any Mickey Rouke fans out there?  These shots were taken inside the old 'Casino' building by the waterfront, which was featured in the 2008 film "The Wrestler".

Asbury's beachfront has recently transformed into a bustling, hip summer destination.  But the atmosphere of this winter boardwalk shot reminded me of the 'old' Asbury.
